Fellow Springfield College Physical Therapy classmates recently got together, celebrating more than 30 years of friendship.

Dr. Mark Kenton '94, G'96 makes it a point to get to know those who come to his ER, the one at Mercy Medical Center. Indeed, he said he always looks to make a connection by listening to each patient and learning about what they are interested in and passionate about. For his efforts, Kenton was recognized by BusinessWest as a "Healthcare Hero."

In addition, Cindy Senk G'81, has also been named a "Healthcare Hero" by BusinessWest. Senk is the owner of Movement for All, a yoga focus for Arthritis patients. Senk is yoga instructor and personal trainer.

Springfield College alumni connect at Fenway Park!

Melissa Hodgdon '91 ran into fellow Springfield College graduate Rob Bradford '92 at a recent Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park.

Russ Smith '73 G'77 CAS '84 recently stopped by the Alumni House to say hello.

Russ, a former SC gymnast, is excited about the upcoming Home Show "Let it Rock" taking place on September 30.

As NSO weekend kicked off, Springfield College alumni faculty and staff proudly wore their beanies and bucket hats at Convocation in support of the Class of 2027!

Fairfield University Vice President for Athletics Paul Schlickmann G'92 was selected among the 28 winners of the Cushman & Wakefield AD of the Year Award, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).

The ADOY Award highlights the efforts of athletics directors at all levels for their commitment and positive contributions to student-athletes, campuses and their surrounding communities.

Ken Riegler '91 (second from left), recently attended the AIG Women's Open and had the opportunity to play with some of the world's top golf pros, including Gaby Lopez.

Riegler currently serves as AIG's President and Head of North America Retail & Field Management.

Brett Torrey '89 recently got together with six other classmates from the Class of 1989 at his home in Manchester, Vermont.

This is something they have been doing for over 25 years annually. Classmates were Doug Stutz '89, Ed Duane '89, Tim Cushing '89, Mike Tierney '89, Joe Wood '89, and Don Moon '90.

Lars Wahlstrom '66 G'72, visiting from Sweden, and David Yeo '67, G'68, DPE '77 stopped by the Alumni House to say hello after enjoying a day on campus, which even included lunch in Cheney Hall.

Talya Pessolano '11, G'12 recently was featured on MassLive for starting her own business in Boston serving as an inspiration to current Springfield College students.

Pessolano is at the forefront of The Dirty Italian, a business that specializes in gourmet charcuterie, boxes and grazing tables. She has since turned her traveling business into a permanent residence, drawing inspiration right from home.

Thank you to Dan Romero '90, Shelly Pace Romero '91 and Betsy Jeffers Moquin '90 for stopping by to visit us this summer. It was wonderful to see you! If you are in the area, please do not hesitate to stop by the Alumni House to visit. We are located at 258 Middlesex Street and would love to see you.

Former Springfield College roommates Karen Bisbee '91 and Melissa Hodgdon '91 recently got together on Cape Cod and headed to Nantucket for fishing and fun.

While on their trip, they happened to spot a boat with "Carpe Diem" written on it which just happened to be the Class of '91's senior year motto meaning "Seize the Day!"

Springfield College Alumni Housing Assistance Program

Many thanks to all of our Springfield College alumni who are currently hosting SC students, have housed SC students in the past, connected students with housing opportunities or simply took the time to connect with a student who has relocated to a new area. Many SC students are required to complete clinical experiences and internships and often these opportunities will take these young men and women to various locations throughout the country.

The Office of Alumni Relations oversees the Alumni Housing Assistance Program which helps to connect students with alumni throughout the country in an effort to assist students in securing housing and thus, taking advantage of opportunities they may not otherwise have.

If you are interested in providing short term housing (4-12 weeks) to Springfield College students or are a student in need to secure housing outside the Springfield area, please email Maria D'Agostino Crawford '91, Associate Director, Alumni Relations at mcrawford@springfieldcollege.edu.

"My experience hosting a Springfield College student for three months was a great opportunity for me to reconnect with the Springfield College community. I enjoyed getting to know Sebastian, our guest, hearing about improvements to campus, talking about his classes, discussing his internship learnings and reminiscing about our shared experiences with campus life. I can clearly recall my own senior year internship (at Coca Cola Foods Employee Wellness Center in Houston, TX) where I too was hosted by a welcoming family and I'm excited that I could finally repay that kindness.
