As he approaches his 30th birthday, Harrison Elias '16, G'19 often looks around and cannot believe how far he has come. After completing his master’s degree in exercise science/strength and conditioning at Springfield College and stints as a Division I college strength and conditioning coach at the University of Rhode Island and Boston College, he is now the founder/owner of a sports performance facility in Glastonbury, Connecticut. He also is a pediatric brain cancer survivor who has been in remission for more than 20 years.

Fairfield University's Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann G'92, has been elevated to Vice President for Athletics, with a signed contract extension to remain with the Stags through the 2026-27 academic year. Schlickmann assumed the Director of Athletics position at Fairfield beginning in the 2017-18 season.

During Schlickmann's five-year tenure at Fairfield, the Stags have won 16 conference titles and 14 regular season titles – a tally that includes at least one conference crown for eight different varsity programs – with 14 NCAA postseason appearances. Fairfield is one of only two MAAC institutions to have sent multiple teams to the NCAA Championship in each of the last five years, and the Stags have won the MAAC Women's Commissioner's Cup twice in the last three seasons.

Keith Scarlett '79 recently finished his 23rd year as athletic trainer at Holyoke (MA) Community College. After 37 years, Keith retired as a high school basketball referee in December 2022. He is the only person who has worked Massachusetts high school championship tournaments as both a referee and an athletic trainer.

From SC to WC, Paris Lizana '23 is continuing to make her impact in higher education as she recently started the position of assistant director of events and facilities at Wellesley College in their Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Department. Congratulations Paris, we are all excited for you here at SC!

Eileen Lohner-Turk '85 bumped into fellow Springfield College alumnus Ryan Regensburg '03 at July 4th festivities held at the Mission Bay Yacht Club in San Diego, CA.  Thank you Eileen and Ryan for this terrific photo!

Humanics in Action....Earlier this month Maria D'Agostino Crawford '91 had the the privilege to deliver stuffed teddy bears and kangaroos, put together by Springfield College alumni, family and friends during Reunion '23 to Baystate Children's Hospital in Springfield. She also delivered a few small basketballs and "Basketball Was Born Here" booklets with the hope that these items will bring some cheer to the children that are currently in the hospital. Thank you to Jessie Hagerman '99, Manager of Child Life & Healing Arts at Baystate Children's Hospital for her help in coordinating this effort.

It is always exciting to see fellow Springfield College alumni working together. Thank you to Ally Forsyth Mooney '98 G'99 who shared this terrific photo of herself and fellow SC alums, all of whom are employed by the Farmington Public Schools and certainly know how to share their SC spirit!
