Interdisciplinary Programs | Springfield College

Explore and propose interdisciplinary programs

Now more than ever, interdisciplinary approaches are needed to educate our students to face and solve the complex challenges of our changing society. This working group will explore and recommend opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and scholarship, will define interdisciplinarity and articulate how it is embedded within the Springfield College mission, and will identify structures and processes to promote and enhance interdisciplinarity across existing programs and curricula while maintaining cost-effectiveness. In addition, the working group will identify needs and opportunities for new interdisciplinary programs that will contribute to the financial sustainability and educational innovativeness. This work is expected to conclude in Spring 2023.

Working Group Co-Chairs: Dr. Mary Ann Coughlin and Dr. Rachel Rubinstein
