Choosing a Major
What major should I choose?
For many medical fields, the major you earn your degree in is less important than taking the required coursework for admission into these programs.
As an institution, Springfield College offers numerous degree programs that support the diverse health and medical career interests of our students. For information on our various programs, please visit our academic programs page. Students may also consider seeking direct admission to one of our pre-professional programs, including Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Athletic Training.
Is it all just science classes?
In preparing for health professions we encourage you to pursue a wide variety of experiences while in college, which may include participation in athletics, student clubs and activism, student government, community service, spiritual life, work experiences, and artistic pursuits. All Springfield College students take a variety of classes that support their general education, including humanities courses. Pre-health students come from diverse backgrounds and develop strong academic and leadership profiles based on their individual interests.
