Springfield College Communications/Sports Journalism Students Work Hoophall Classic
Springfield College has unveiled the Faculty Enrichment Fund, designed to establish Center for Excellence Fellowship, with the goal of supporting faculty members in the development, execution, and dissemination of research projects that advance the understanding of teaching and learning. Leaders of the Springfield College Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship will manage the fellowships.

Springfield College Professor of Social Work Miguel L. Arce has been recognized by Holyoke High School students in the Pa’lante’ Restorative Justice Group as a “Paper City Hidden Legend,” for his work as an activist, organizer, and leader who has helped pave the way for high school students leading the celebration of Holyoke’s diversity and rich history of social activism.

Springfield College and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame presented the eighth annual Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Scholarship to Springfield College sport management students Jeremy Therrien and Abigail Wylie. The formal presentation was made during the 2020 Spalding Hoophall Classic at Blake Arena.

The Springfield College Spiritual Life Center hosted its annual Adopt-A-Family Program to help local families in need during the holiday season. Once again, the College worked with the Teen Living Program in Springfield, and with the generous help from so many members of the campus community, 20 families from the Teen Living Program will receive special gifts this holiday season.

Springfield College was recently recognized for its outstanding support of the Springfield School Volunteers (SSV) during the SSV’s Golden Anniversary Gala on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at MGM Springfield. Representing Springfield College at the Gala were Vice President for Student Affairs Patrick Love, Director of the Center for Service and Leadership Charlene Elvers, Director of AmeriCorps LaTonia Naylor, and Assistant Director of AmeriCorps Murielle Gatewood.
