It is always a great day on Alden Street when Springfield College alumni come home for a visit. In November, we had the pleasure of welcoming Jason Klein '00, executive chairman & founder of Force3 Pro Gear and Stuart Sokoloff '17, manager, group & season ticket sales for Athletes Unlimited. Sokoloff is also an adjunct professor at SC where he teaches a class in Client Services & Sales. Both Klein and Sokoloff majored in sports management and enjoyed talking about their experiences with current students pursuing this field. View Photo Gallery...

On Sunday, November 10, the Men's and Women's Gymnastics teams hosted a "First Look" Intrasquad Meet in Blake Arena. Many gymnastics alumni were on hand to cheer on the current teams as they prepare for the upcoming season. It was a special day as former gymnastics coaches Frank Wolcott '52, G'60; Mimi Murray '61, G'67; and Steve Posner were all in attendance. Prior to the meet, the division of Institutional Advancement hosted a lunch reception for attendees to view the upgrades and hear about the future potential renovations of Kresge Gymnasium. Mary Barnum, G'90, faculty emeritus, ran into Bob Peck, G'83, while on a ferry crossing from Ocracoke, NC to Cedar Island, NC. Bob taught scuba diving at Springfield College as an adjunct professor for the Department of Physical Education.  Although their time at Springfield College overlapped, Mary and Bob had never met until their meeting on the ferry.

Congratulations to Kelly Moran Langlois '16 who has been recognized with the SHAPE Pennsylvania Excellence in Teaching Physical Education Award.

Scott Woodaman '09, G'12, Springfield College Director of YMCA Relations, recently brought a group of SC students to the Regional Emerging Multicultural Leadership Experience in Boston, hosted by the YMCA of Greater Boston and the Old Colony YMCA. 

Many thanks to Elizabeth McPartland Czarkosky '95, G'96, Carlton Pickron '79, G'82, and Hira Byrne Paulin '12, G'13, who visited with prospective students and their families during a recent Admissions Open House.

MJ McGillicuddy '24 and Hayden Cheever, Class of 2026, presented "Macho Myth-Busting:  Healthy Masculinity for the Online Student" at the MAHPERD conference in Worcester, Mass. McGillicuddy is a Health Education Teacher at Agawam (MA) Junior High School.

Love is in the air! A joyous congrats to Jessica Skov '19, G '21, and Gavin Jepson '19, G '21, who were married this summer in Sharon, Mass, with their Springfield College family by their side. Fun fact: Jessica and Gavin graduated from the Physician Assistant program together.
A day to remember! On September 7, 2024, Jenna Corynne Bugbee '12, G'14, married Kevin Frank in Niantic, Conn. Bridesmaids included 2012 classmates from Springfield College. From Left to Right: Jaclyn Novitzky Flynn '12, Sabrina Thompson Goodwin '12, Jenna Bugbee Frank '12, G'14, Julie Moise Cullen '12 and Jacqueline Rosato Fee '12.

Congratulations to Shannon Barsevich '18 and Daniel Chicoine '18, who were married on September 24, 2024. Shannon and Daniel met in Gulick Hall in 2014 along with many of their friends who were part of their bridal party which included Krystina Stoker '18, Kate Sprague '18, Samantha "Sammy" Boisvert '18, G'19, Chris Feldman '18, G'19, Rob Bunszell '18, Brandon Charton '18, G'19, and Chullainn Kelly '18 who served as the officiant. Shannon shared that when the Springfield College photo was taken on the dance floor, class song "I Lived" by OneRepublic was playing, bringing back many great college memories!

Kevin Cahill '01 ,G'04, head football coach at Lehigh University, led his team to the Patriot League Championship, while earning Dick Biddle Coach of the Year honors. Cahill and the Lehigh players enjoyed their turnaround season finishing the regular season with a mark of 8-3. The Mountain Hawks finished 2-9 in each of the two previous seasons, and haven’t enjoyed a winning season since 2016 (9-3). Even when Lehigh won its last Patriot League title in 2017, it finished 5-7.
 
“This is Lehigh football,” said Cahill, who previously was the offensive coordinator and associate head coach at Yale. “You come here for the championships. You come here to do things the right way, and we took a big, big step in Year 2 to get Lehigh football back to where Lehigh football should be. We’re going to enjoy it.”
Sandy Levine Sears '64 recently adopted an 85 lb. greyhound that is a trained service dog for a veteran. After having the dog for six months. Sandy decided to train him as a therapy dog. Sandy now takes the dog to nursing homes and the local hospice facility where the dog provides a tremendous amount of comfort. 
 
Jennifer Procopio '91 has obtained a new certification: LTEN Metrics, Measurement & Learning Analytics from Life Sciences Trainers & Education Network.
 
David M. Williams '96 recently published his first book, Quality as an Organizational Strategy. The book reflects decades of experience helping leaders improve their organizational systems.  
 
Bryan Platt '00 and Amaury Hernandez '94 have been elected to the Board of Directors for the International College of Advanced Practice Paramedics.  "It is a great honor to serve on this board and a greater honor to serve alongside a fellow alum," says Platt.
 
Joe Harasymiak '08 was recently named the head football coach at UMass-Amherst. Harasymiak played college football at Springfield College and was a team captain with the Pride. 
 
Shelby Gray Hughes '14, G'17, was named a Quarterly Impact Award Winner by Liberty Mutual Insurance where she is a Customer Service Supervisor.
 
Brian Kendall, G'14, recently became the Director of Production - MBTA/Deputy Director of HR and Labor Relations at CRRC MA.
 
Eleftheria Petridi, G '14, is excited to step into a new role as Sports Manager at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Attica, Greece.
 
The Miami Marlins have named Daniel Vega, G'15, head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
 
The Hartford Wolf Pack have promoted Emily Vance '16 to Senior Marketing Manager.
 
Meghan Foy '17, G'18, is excited to begin her new role as Senior Occupational Therapist at Hospital for Special Care.
 
The Boston Red Sox have named Jordan Elkary '19 Manager, Player Development and Joe Hudson, G'17, Strength & Conditioning Coach.
 
Rachel Ahlmeyer '20, G'22, has been promoted to Senior Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions & Events at Springfield College.
 
Jack Bixler '21 is now an Athletic Trainer for the West Chester (PA) Area School District.
 
Jordan Paley '21 has started a new position as the Guest Services & Security Manager at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.
 
Jack Gagnon '22 shared he is a Jr. Client Support Specialist at Prolific 1.
 
Rachel Vadney, PsyD '22, has obtained a new certification:  Licensed Psychologist from the Massachusetts Board of Psychology.
 
Corey Bourassa '23 is a Sales Account Manager at Topgolf.
