Ava Becker remembers when their sister studied abroad during her college years. With their own study abroad opportunity in spring 2025 in Limerick, Ireland, Ava grew to be more independent and be more open to new experiences, among other benefits. They had successfully pitched the idea of combining an internship with traditional study abroad opportunities through the University of Limerick.

Three Coaches

In the spring 2026 semester, 16 members of the Springfield College staff embarked on a transformative wellness journey designed specifically for women navigating perimenopause and postmenopause. This powerful, science-backed program, called Muscle & Menopause, empowers participants to feel stronger, more confident, and in control of their health during a pivotal stage of life.

National Girls and Women in Sports Day Group

Over the last 20-plus years, student-athletes from Springfield College’s women’s athletic teams have participated in National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Girls in grades K-6 from local schools come to campus for a free multisport clinic hosted by our women’s teams. Hear from three student-athletes about why they look forward to this event and how it benefits the young girls.

Through his Springfield College Athletic Leadership master’s program, William Balzano served as an activity facilitator at an important student-athlete leadership conference for local high schoolers. It was an opportunity that fit perfectly with his studies at the College and his coaching opportunities in football and track and field at Chicopee (Mass.) High School.
