Springfield College was well represented at the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL) game on December 6. We stuffed bears for the Teddy Bear Toss, posed for a photo at center ice and even had the opportunity to take a ride on the zamboni thanks to Thunderbirds account executives Joe Manning '24 and our fearless driver, James Lawless '23! Many thanks to all who joined us for this event! Photo Gallery...

Please send photos to alumni@springfieldcollege.edu. Thank you!

Kevin Norman '90, back row left, recently met up with the Springfield College women's club soccer team at the NIRSA National Soccer Tournament in Overland Park, Kansas.

Norman, who lives in the area, brought along his Springfield College Maroon Key Club seat cushion. Although the team did not come home with a win, they were the only D3 team to compete and played some outstanding soccer. It is great to see Springfield College represented in the midwest and amongst many D1 teams. Congratulations to all!

Thank you to Sport Management alumni Neil Como '00, development director, youth markets, for the American Heart Association, and Seven Terry '24, athletic equipment manager for Eaglebrook School. They both returned to Alden Street and were guest speakers in Assistant Professor Leila Riley's Legal Issues in Sport and Recreation class.

Dan Vega, G'15, head strength and conditioning coach for the Miami Marlins, recently returned to Alden Street to share his journey and lessons learned along the way with our students. Dan shared some wonderful advice:

Speak things into existence; Believe in yourself; Be a good teammate; Be strategic; Take initiative; Our mentors know more than you realize; It's ok to have your own coaching style; It's ok to take two steps back to move forward; Work hard and opportunities will follow; Stay in touch with others because you care, not because you want something; Be patient; Be where your feet are; and Lift others up.

A sincere thank you to Dan for sharing your story!

Diane Cavaliere '85 and Tamara Owen '84, G'86, hadn't seen each other in 41 years, then saw each other twice in a month. Student Spotlight - Tofael Hossain, Class of 2026, is not only an honors student with a double major in finance and computer science and a member of the golf team, but an entrepreneur who has founded SigmaPointPi.

A native of Bangladesh, Hossain, with the assistance of dedicated Springfield College faculty, has developed an AI-driven quantitative startup to help the general public achieve their financial dreams. SigmaPointPi is designing what is called an integrated intelligence system, a neural infrastructure that reads signals across finance, politics, health, defense and global economics, then learns how those signals translate into risk and opportunity in the real world.

"We want SigmaPointPi to serve as an AI co-pilot for your financial life, so that you do not need a PhD in finance to invest responsibly, stay protected, and move steadily toward the future you imagine for yourself and your family," shares Hossain.
