Jennifer Mattes Farrand '89 shared that effective July 1, she will serve as the Pittsburgh East Regional Catholic Elementary Schools Superintendent for the Diocese of Pittsburgh, overseeing the operations of the region's Catholic elementary schools.
"I am deeply grateful to Springfield College for the outstanding undergraduate education I received. My time at Springfield helped lay the foundation for my career in educational leadership and set me on the path toward this new opportunity to serve students, families and school communities. Thank you for the lasting impact Springfield College has had on my professional journey," says Jennifer.
Ryan Coburn '12, G'16, of Forge Financial, has been named as a Leaders Club qualifier by the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America® (Guardian). Leaders Club is the highest honor annually awarded by Guardian to financial professionals who demonstrate outstanding service and dedication to their clients.

In March, Ally Forsyth Mooney '98, G'99, and Andrea Perkins Nerlich '98, G'00, formed "Team Johnny" in memory of John LaFalce '96, G'00, at this year's Cycle for Survival in NYC, to benefit Memorial Sloan Kettering where LaFalce was treated during his battle with cancer.
Taking part in this benefit is how Forsyth Mooney chose to spend her 50th birthday.

A production of Springfield's Department of Literature, Writing and Journalism, the COSJ Alumni Podcast is produced and hosted by Jeremy Menard, Visiting Assistant Professor of Multimedia Journalism. New episodes released every-other Friday morning at 10:00 AM during the academic year.
Stacey Konsulis Nobrega '86 was passing through Massachusetts on the way to New Hampshire and decided to stop by my old stomping grounds.
Prashant Timalsina '24 and James G. O'Brien, PhD, recently connected at the Bi-Annual International Association of Relativistic Dynamics (IARD) Conference hosted by Howard University in Washington, D.C.
O'Brien, Professor and Chair of the Department of Math, Physics, and Computer Science, presented his research on large-scale galaxy simulations, highlighting code and simulations developed by Springfield College Computer and Information Sciences students.
The conference also provided an opportunity for O'Brien to reconnect with Timalsina, now a graduate student in Howard University's Department of Engineering and Computer Science and co-founder of two startup companies. It's always exciting to see Springfield College alumni making an impact in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Brian P. McLaughlin '88 led the Dover-Sherborn (Mass.) boys lacrosse team to six state championships, was named the USA Lacrosse Eastern Massachusetts Coach of the Year following his stellar 2024 season. He officially retired from Dover-Sherborn after 24 varsity seasons in the fall of 2024.
Jennifer Mattes Farrand '89 will be serving as the Pittsburgh East Regional Catholic Elementary Schools Superintendent for the Diocese of Pittsburgh, effective July 1, 2026. Farrand will be overseeing the operations of the region’s Catholic elementary schools.
Keith Bryant '92 has announced he will soon be rejoining the Olympic Movement as the CEO of US Speedskating. "Having been inspired by Eric Heiden to pursue a career in the Movement, this is a dream come true," says Bryant.
Andromeda Peters, G'12, recently appeared on the podcast, Mostly Together. Peters is Miss Universe Ghana, Miss United States 2018, a licensed psychotherapist, mental health advocate, and founder of Your Mind Matters Global. Her conversation touches on her Western Massachusetts roots, her work in mental health, her pageant journey, and the mission she’s continuing to build around healing, identity, and creating safe spaces. The podcast can be found on YouTube and Apple Podcasts.
